...enough..

...when is enough really enough...
...when do you know when to give up...
...how much pain should be endured..
...how much tears should be shed...
...how long do you have to wait...
...just before you say "it's enough"...

Hundred islands

Lattetude

Hundred islands

...Feels like we're back in highskul days when we used to have fieldtrips.. Nov. 28,2009, finally our very first highskul kada out-of-town trip. I've invested so much effort and lots and lots of patients ang "kakulitan" just to make this trip possible. But it was all worth it..
..Meeting place is at Siesta (Victory Liner bus stop here in Tarlac), 5:30 am, but we got on an ordinary Five Star bus bound to Alaminos at around 6:40 am..We got delayed because we waited for our friend who eventually was left behind..(hehehe)..It was a 2.5 hour trip, and all through out the trip we were all making kwento and laughing and all.. It was our first time to go to 100 islands so we are all so excited.
...Finally, at around 9am we arrived in the town of Alaminos. There are plenty of tricycles offering service to brgy. Lucap where boats are for rent for 100 island tour, but we headed to the nearest Mcdonalds first to have a quick breakfast. We then hired tricycle to bring us to Lucap. It was a short 15 minute ride, and we were already with several boatmen offering island tours. We availed the whole day boat service rental instead of drop-off pick-up service. We've also rented lifevests and snorkels here.

...Just about 10 mins out in the sea, our boat started to slow down..Our engine stopped, so we waited for another boat so we could transfer...
...Our first stop was in Governor's island. There is a toilet area here, just enough space to change clothes. We headed way up to the view deck.

...It was not easy going up, since we are all used to just sitting 8 hours a day in our office desk..We were all sweating and complaining, but it was all worth it, the view is breathtaking..

...There are several way points to reach the view deck. When we headed down, we tracked through the other direction and found a cave here, not sure though of the name or if there is even a name for this cave..(hehehe)
...Then we headed to Quezon island. We ate our lunch here. We made the right decision we we decided to brign our own baon instead of just buying, because goods are here are way too expensive. We bought a 1.5Li coke for P80 with free ice, that's twice the price on the market. Right after we ate our lunch we headed to the beach, and tried to snorkel. Unfortunately there is nothing to see here. So we decided to try kayak. It was my first time, and its hard to paddle and manouver, but I enjoyed the 30 min. kayak.

......It was past 2pm when we decided to go to the coral island and try to snorkel. We didn't even had the chance to swim or even take pictures of the white sand in Quezon island because we were more excited to snorkel. So we headed to coral island which is just beside the Quezon island.
..There is this platform floating in the middle of the sea where we would set off for snorkelling. Unfortunately, there is nothing to see in this area, the best part is in the coral island, where we have to swim our way if we want to go there. We were so unlucky that the waves are stronger than normal, so the boatman said that he can't bring us near the coral island. So we just enjoyed ourselves floating, picture taking, and trying to see very few fishes under the sea. After several picture takings while floating, we decided to head to our next destination, another cave which unfortunately I forgot the name..(hahaha)...
...This was our last stop, then we headed back to Lucap, because it's already almost 5pm and the waves are getting a bit stronger. Come to think of it, we had only few destinations. Maybe some other time we'll be able to visit them all..And besides we are already tired just the whole day. Back in Lucap, there is this store where you can take shower for P20 per person. Just before we headed back home, we stopped by Lucap lighthouse and bought some souvenirs.

....We left alaminos at around 6:40 pm via five star bus...It was a fun filled tiring-yet exciting kada out-of-town trip...

Half Day in Cebu

After our pleasurable tour in Bohol, we allotted our remaining time to roam around the busy streets of Cebu just before we head back home. We arrived in Cebu at around 9am. Cebu was just like Manila, but only lesser traffic. But more or less it is the Manila of Visayas. On my first time, we just hired a taxi waiting outside Cebu port to tour us around Cebu. I think we paid him 1.2K- 1.5K which includes our airport transfer. But on my second time, I made sure to contact Mang Danny, who also offers the same service with the cab we rented. I just wanted to make sure that all goes well during the trip. Our first stop was in Fort San Pedro, which is just a walking distance from the port. I think they have entrance fee of P15 per person. There is a museum here, but unfortunately it was closed during our visit. There are also souvenir shops here. I bought my souvenirs here. I think we stayed here for almost 30 mins because we enjoyed ourselves picture taking..

Then we went to Sto. Nino Basilica. We were not able to go inside because they are strict on dress codes. They don't let in those wearing sleeveless and shorts, which by the way was what I was wearing. So I made it a point to dress accordingly on my second visit.

Just beside the Sto. Nino Basilica church is the trademark of Cebu, the Magellan's Cross. I was expecting that this famous spot would be placed somewhere secluded, or rather much of a tourist spot I had in mind. But still it is different seeing it only on postcards with seeing it face to face. Can't even imagine that I'm actually in front of it.=)

Next stop was in Taoist Temple. It is a 15-20 minute ride from the town proper. What I remember here are the stairs, lots and lots of stairs!!From the main entrance, you have to climb up to reach the main hall, then from the main hall, climb some more stairs to reach other spots. The topmost area of the temple offers a scenic view overlooking downtown Cebu. I think we stayed here for almost an hour because we had to stop and rest once in a while after every stairs we climb..

We didn't even noticed the time as we enjoyed roaming around Cebu, but our stomachs reminded us that it is time to eat. So we asked our taxi driver to bring us to the best Cebu lechon vendor he knows. He led us to CnT Lechon. For only P50, you can buy 1/4 kilo of their famous Cebu lechon. Their lechon is very crispy, and the meat is very tasty, you don't even need sauce to accompany the meal. By the way, their sauce here is soy and vinegar with sliced onions. They also have this crab meat stuffed in crab shell for only P25 per piece. I really liked this meal. After our satisfying meall at Cnt Lechon, we stopped by the market to buy some danggits for pasalubong. I hate going to these markets because the smell really clings on your clothes an dit really stinks. After the visit in the market, the danggit smell is all over you..But I like eating danggit and dried pusit! I think i bought the danggit for P80 for 1/4 kilo, dried pusit P120 for 1/4 kilo. I also bought dried mangoes, those that doesn't have brand, for P150 for a 1 kilo pack. The dried mangoes didn't even reach Luzon, because we already ate them at the airport while waiting for our flight.

Before 2pm, we already checked-in in Mactan Airport. I was even able to take a nap while waiting for our flight. For approximately 5hours, we were able to experience what Cebu has to offer without the rush. It was tiring indeed, but the experience was a blast. I just hope that next time I'll get the chance to visit their pristine beaches..Next time..

Bohol (Day2)

As early as 5:30am, we were already preparing for our dolphin watching and snorkelling. Our boatman, Kuya Lazar, picked us up from the resort at exactly 6am. Our boat can accommodate 6-7 person, but we were only three at that time. Kuya Lazar was also my contact person during my second visit in Bohol.

So off we sail to where the dolphins are seen. It was far from the shores of Panglao and we knew that we are nearing the stop when we saw other boats clustered like they are in a parking lot, waiting for the dolphins. Our engine drastically went silent as we wait patiently for the dolphins to come out. All eyes are on the waters looking for any sign of movement. We even transfer from one place to anothet, hoping to get a better chance of seeing them. It was like a never ending hunt, but fortunately we saw the dolphins swimming playfully. I think it was thrre or four times that we had to see them. During my second time, dolphins are more visible, I think during the month of december more dolphins come to this place. The experience of seeing dolphins swimming freely in an open see is far different from what ocean parks has to offer.
After the dolphin watching, we headed to Balicasag Island for snorkelling. I learned that Balicasag island is considered a mushroom type island. Meaning the island looks like a mushroom dipped in the ocean. So the island has its support only at the center, and underneath the land is water. Great isn't it?
We hired a smaller boat to bring us to the snorkelling area which is not far from the island. We paid P100 per person for our guide. One guide can assist a maximum of 2 persons. It is mandatory for all tourists to hire guides for snorkelling as part of the livelihood project of the government for the people of panglao, and also to preserve the coral reefs. It was actually my first time to snorkel and I feel so lucky that I get to experience it in Balicasag. During my first time, we were not bringing any waterproof camera, so we only had our memory to capture the site. So i made sure that the next time I visit, I get to capture the view underwater. Just an advice, bring some crackers along with you so you can feed the fish. I could just stay all day and watch the view, but I felt dizzy and decided to return to the island.

We ate our lunch in Balicasag. There are stire that sell freshly catched seafoods and offers to cook them for you. We bought 1/4 kilo of shrimp and half tune and asked to grill them for us, and 1/4 kilo of oyster cooked in soy sauce. I think for our meal, we spent approximately P500 with 1 liter of softdrinks and 8 cups of rice shared by the three of us. We stayed here for another hour just before we left.
Finally our last stop, Puntod Island or Virgin Island. Just look at the picture and get awed by its beauty. It is really a wonder how nature works to create such a site.

At approximately 3pm, we were heading back back to Panglao. We went straight to our rooms and slept! I think it was almost 6pm when we woke up and spent the rest of the night at the shores of Panglao beach.

Bohol is such a small island with so much to offer. Hope to get back again here some time...

Palawan Planning ( Where to stay?!)

Here is a list of pension house and hotels I've inquired at with their corresponding rates. These rates are updated Last June and i think are good until December of this year. I made this check list during the time I was still deciding where to stay.
For our Palawan trip, I booked our reservation at Duchess pension. They asked me to deposit 20% downpayment on their account to secure our reservation. Sherwin, my contact in duchess pension is very accommodating. I just hope that the place is really clean and comfy for stay.
Hope this hotel rates summary would be of help to those planning their palawan trip.

Rustica experience

" The best mango shake Ive ever tasted..." This always comes into my mind everytime Rustica Restaurant is mentioned. I remember the first time I ate here was during my welcome party from my new colleagues, and from them, I can't forget their food especially their enormous mango shake.
Rustica Restaurant is located along Mc Arthur Highway, Tarlac City. It is easy to find because it is near the only overpass made in Tarlac City, which is not even functional at all..(^^.)V So there is no way that you can't find this place. They also have branches in Cabanatuan City and in Quezon City. I think they also have one in Capas, Tarlac, but I'm not sure if it is still open.
As I've said, they have the best mango shake I've ever tasteed. Other than the taste, the size is really a plus. For only P65.00 ( i think) you can enjoy the enormous mango shake which I really think could be shared by two! It is like ordering 2.5 glasses of mango shake that other restaurants offer.
Not only the mango shake is great here, but also their food. They have a wide range of menu. The servings are also big without sacrificing the taste at a reasonable price.
Just recently, they offered promotional meal deals. For only P168.00, you can choose from 4 varieties of meals. The meal comes with a choice of fish, chicken, pork or beef, with vegetable and plain rice. The meal also includes soup and regular iced tea.
I've tried their stuffed fish in lemon with butter sauce. I'm not much of a soup person, but I liked their creamy soup. Also, the vegetable ham medley is delicious. I think the vegetable alone is enough for the meal. But ofcourse, the fish in lemon butter sauce is still a must to try. I really liked the tenderness and the sapid flavor of the fish. I really loved this meal.
The other meals offered are chicken ala pobre, smoked baby back ribs, and pot roast beef with mushroom. I'll definitely try the other meals next time.
For a value of P168.00 only, the meal deall is relly a treat. I think the meal is even enough to be shared by two. So if you want to dine on a budget but still want to experience good food and satisfy your hunger, try visit Rustica Restaurant.

Palawan Trip Planning ( Plane Ticket)

Palawan! One of the places listed on my "things-to-do before I die" list. I promised myself that before this year ends, I must step foot on the beautiful island of Palawan. The moment I learned about the promo fare of Zets Air I did not hesitated to organize my dream vacation. For P788- all in, one way fare, my dream is within my reach! I tried to compare it with other promo fares from other airlines, and it is suprising tho know that Zest air promo fair is really a deal not to ignore. As early as june, I was checking for promo fares for december. And only zest air offered this sure deal. So I consulted with my sister and asked if we can share the expenses and plan a christmas vacation for our family. She gave the go signal, so I didn't wasted any time, fo r I know that these seat are limited!
June 15, I booked our flight! We will be departing at Domestic airport at 3pm and arrive in puerto princesa airport at 4.20pm. For 7 persons, our amount due is P11, 032.00 only! No other hidden charges. I was more convinced that I got a great deal when I learned that a colleague of mine booked the same flight last august and got the tickets for P1,088. It was a 300 peso difference from what I booked! Really proves that the earlier you book, the cheaper the flights are..=)
It would be my first time to fly with Zest Air, and I hope all goes well. I just hope that we'll have a safe and smooth fly.

Weekend Mall Hopping

..I spent my weekend with my friend roaming around the malls of metro manila..we did not planned to do this, but we enjoyed window shopping and , believe it or not, WALKING!
..Last saturday we first headed to SM Megamall. I think it was almost 12 nn when we arrived in SM Megamall. Our goal was to find the ice cream store "baskin Robbins" because a friend of mine told me that they have a stall in megamall. SO, the search for baskin robbins. We roamed the majority of SM Megamall! We even triple checked the directories, but no Baskin Robbins written in the directories..=( We ended up window shopping for watches instead, which i'm planing to buy as christmas gift for myself.(^^,)V. It was even a 3-day sale in SM, so it was very tempting to buy. I almost gave in to the offer of Fossil store. I saw a watch i really liked. But i held on tight to my credit card, and never let it slip to the very tempting offer..But I still ended up buying small things. I bought a rubber grip and towel grip for my racket, and 1 jogging pants for badminton.
...At around 3pm we felt our legs getting tired, so we decided to watch the movie "The surrogates". We bought a whole pan pizza of pizza hut for our snacks, the one they offer at P52.00 for 2 slices. We paid P208.00 only for 4slices of hawaiian pizza and 4 slices of ham and cheese. We first planned to eat half of the pizz for snacks, then the other half for our dinner. But we realized that we haven't eaten our lunch yet, and got carried away, so we ended up eating the whole pizza..=)
...After the movie, we decided to continue our search for baskin robbins in trinoma. I think it was around 7pm when we arrived in trinoma. The never ending walk started again, and window shopping for watches.=) We were not successful to find the ice cream store. We then headed to the topmost floor of Trinoma, where they have this garden set-up. We stayed here, had a cup of frapp before we decided to call it a night and continue our search for baskin robbins the next day..
..One last attempt to search for baskin robbins..We tried our luck in glorietta..but we failed..And unfortunately we have to accept our fate..I can't walk anymore..My feet are already sore, i can barely walk..I can feel my lower back ache..It was the first time that a guy beat me up in walking.. My friend didn't even showed any signs of exhaustion..Is it a sign of aging?!hahaha..
..Well it was indeed and experience..Even if we failed to eat ice cream at baskin robbins, it was a weekend well spent.. and i wouldn't change a bit..'till the next store hunting..=)

Dining at "Racks"

"The Best Ribs in town"..
..This is the tag line of The Racks restaurant.. So far, it is indeed the best in town..
..We tried to dine here, because my friend always tells me that their dishes are superb plus they have big servings..Also, he was telling me they have the best iced tea he ever tasted..SO might as well try for my self..
..We ordered their baby back half slab combo for P260.00 and Beef ribs combo also for P260.00. Both meals already include rice and a choice of side dish, we picked coleslaw and potato salad. Then we ordered their bottomless iced tea for P80.00. their regular iced tea costs P50.00
..The verdict?! Well i really liked their baby back slab, which is pork by the way. It has big serving, actually for me, it would be enough for two persons already. I also like their beef ribs, but it easily looks dried, so its not that juicy anymore. But they have this delicious bbq sauce to partner with the dish. I also liked their side dish, especially the coleslaw. Their iced tea?! hmm..for me its just ok. Their iced tea is really made from tea. Well too bad i'm not a fan of the tea after taste.
..For the value of their food, its all worth it. Big servings and rich in flavors. I really am very full after we dined here..

"MIGRAINE" by Moonstar88

Oct.10.2009

..song of the day as recommended by Cai..

MIGRAINE by Moonstar88

Oo nga pala, hindi nga pala tayo
Hanggang dito lang ako, nangangarap na mapa-sayo
Hindi sinasadya
Na hanapin pa ang lugar ko
Asan nga ba ako? Andiyan pa ba sa iyo?

Nahihilo, nalilito

Nahihilo, nalilito
Asan ba ko sayo? Asan ba ko sayo?
Nahihilo, nalilito
Asan ba ko sayo? Aasa ba ko sayo?

Dahil, di na makatulog (makatulog)
Dahil di na makakain (makakain)
Dahil di na makatawa (makatawa)
Dahil, di na

Oo nga pala, hindi nga pala tayo
Hanggang dito na lang ako

Nahihilo, nalilito
Asan ba ko sayo? Asan ba ko sayo?
Nahihilo, nalilito
Asan ba ko sayo? Aasa ba ko sayo?
Nahihilo... Nahihilo...
Nalilito...

Pagudpud Ilocos norte

...May 23-25, 2008

...another "first" in my life..First time to travel in philippines outside the skirts of central luzon..and also, the first well organized trip I've planned..that's why this trip is very memorable to me..because my passion for trave
l started here..

...We took our chances to wait inTarlac for buses bound to Laoag instead of going to Baguio or Manila, which would be an extra travel time and expense for us.Luckily, we were able to ride RCJ bus bound for Cagayan, which will pass through Pagudpud so there's no need to stop in Laoag and take another bus to Pagudpud, which was really what we planned to do..We left here in Tarlac around 9pm and arrived in Mawini,Pagudpud around 6am the next day. I already contacted our tour guide( Kuya Lenzer, our tryk driver and tour guide) beforehand, so he fetched us and brought us to Manang Lourdes's house, where we will be staying. We ju
st put down our things, had a quick shower, light breakfast, then off we went to start our tour..The whole day was spent for the tour.. Then the next day we went to Laoag for a quick stop before we headed back home..We were supposed to stop in Vigan, but i wasn't able to reseaarch on how to go to Vigan..too bad..there's always a next time..
...It was indeed tiring, that's why they joke around saying "that's why they call it pagudpud, because you'll get very tired!" but every bit of it was all worth it.

Labrador Pangasinan

....May 09-10, 2008...

...Our very first family out of town vacation..it was not easy setting up this kind of event in our family specially if they believe that it is not a good idea for the whole family to be travelling all together..can't blame them though because of what they've experienced before..but still, pushed through..
...it has been more than a year ago, so i already forgot most of the details, but here are some I remembered..I listed these down on my handy-dandy-notebook for future reference..

Travel time: 2 hours
....origin is in Tarlac City..we actually had longer travel time than the average, because we had lots of stops..We took Camiling route going to Pangasinan..

Expenses:
House rental: P 1,500
- kubo style with 2 bedrooms, beachfront
Bangka rental: P400 (good for 6pax)

Place of interest: an island 30 mins from Labrador
..i think they call it Virgin island..better stay here than in the beaches of labrador..because here, the island has brownsand unlike in labrador..there are also kubo style houses for rent here..maybe same price as the ones in labrador..

Bohol (day1)

...The year 2008, I went to Bohol twice! first was with my friends, and next was with my family..My first visit was during the month of August and then the second was during the christmas vacation.
...At first, we were hesitant to travel on the month of August since it's rainy season during these months..But we got blinded by the zero promo fare of Cebu pacific, and so we availed their promo. We chose to travel via Cebu since there are more flights in Mactan airpot than in Tagbilaran, and also we'll have a chance to have a side trip in Cebu. I did the same on my december trip..Actually it was like a repeat of everything..(^^.)V
..So we arrived in Cebu, then spent the night there and headed to Tagbilaran early the next morning.Fast ferries are the most convenient means to transport from Cebu to Tagbilaran. It takes about 1 hour and 45 mins. We chose Oceanjet fast ferry, since they have a promo fare of P820 roundtrip, and also they have the earliest schedule for Tagbilaran, which is favorable to us. But on my second time, we weren't able to get tickets for oceanjet, so we transferred to Supercat which has schedules 2hrs behind that of oceanjet. If i remember it right, they have the same fare with oceanjet. By the way, oceanjet and supercat are located in different ports, so you have to ride taxi to transfer from ports. It is not that far anyways.
..So the moment we arrived in Tagbilaran, our tour guide was already waiting for us. We immediately went on to our tour. Our service was a brand new toyota vios, so the ride was very comfortable. We spent the whole day touring the spots of Bohol. Luckily, during the month of august, it never rained in Bohol, but during the month of december we experienced some rains, but still tolerable to have tours.
..After the tour, we we headed to our resort. We stayed in Paragayo resort, which is 3mins walk to ALona beach. But on my second time, I chose to stay in Oops bar, which is beachfront, since my family requested they wanted to stay in beachfront, but still in a budget. Both are good place to stay specially if your in a tight budget. But in Oops bar the only drawback is that they dont offer hot and cold shower.=(
